officers

There are two types of officers in UCJAS:
(1) Ninjas
(2) Appointed Officers

Ninjas form the majority of club. They attend officers' meetings, offer suggestions, and have voting rights when it comes to settling important issues. To become a ninja, you must simply attend 3 officers' meetings at some point. After this, your name will be added officers listhost to receive weekly notes. Ninjas have more responsibility than casual members and receive more power, influence, and discounts from this.

Appointed officers are those voted to named positions at the end of the year. They handle all of the main responsibilities in club, including taking notes, organizing events, projecting the screenings, and keeping track of the treasury. Typically, these officers are third- or fourth-year students, but second-year officers are also possible. Appointed officers generally hold their positions until they graduate unless they are distinctly unhappy with their responsibilities or progess upward into another position (e.g. Vice-President becoming President). At the end of the year, graduating officers' positions will be presented to the ninjas of the club, at which point people are nominated to fill the positions. After all nominations are named and short candidate speeches are given, the ninjas and already-appointed officers of club vote on their preference for the position. One person can hold more than one appointed position, except for the President and Treasurer positions.
